A successful evening was held at the Kooweerup Community Centre on the evening of 5th March, 2008 for women in the community to participate in a free online community webcast hosted by Kooweerup Regional Health Service (KRHS).
National organisation, the Jean Hailes Foundation for Women's Health joined with Kooweerup Regional Health Service to bring a range of interesting and relevant health experts to the local community, where they gave an informative update for women about the latest on treatment options for menopause symptoms, including lifestyle, herbal and hormone therapies, as well as discussing libido issues, emotional health, and how to incorporate healthy eating and being active into daily life.
Jean Hailes Gynaecologist, Dr. Elizabeth Farrell will brief women on the latest evidence-based information on options for menopause symptoms "Many women are still confused about what options are available, and what is safe, effective and right for them," says Dr. Farrell. Each women's experience of menopause is unique and the nature and symptoms will vary greatly. "We have to learn to be comfortable with ageing, so we get the best of our lives," she says.
