Annual Report

Located 50 kilometres south east of Melbourne on the South Gippsland Highway in the rural area of Cardinia Shire Kooweerup Regional Health Service is incorporated pursuant to Division 4 of Part 3 of the Health Services Act 1988 and has been declared a public body to which the Annual Reporting Act 1983 applies. Kooweerup Regional Health Service is funded through the Victorian Department of Human Services and Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing. It operates under the direction of the Minister for Health and Minister for Aged Care state wide and nationally the Minister for Health and the Minister for Ageing.

 

Operating under the Department of Human Services Small Rural Health Services Program Kooweerup Regional Health provides a range of Community, Acute and Residential Care Services to the residents of Cardinia. Kooweerup Regional Health Service currently accommodates:

  • 12 Acute beds
  • 20 high care beds
  • 40 low care beds

Upgrading of the facility is planned in the near future which will include a new Unit providing 6 Respite beds.

The community garden located at the front of Kooweerup Regional Health Service is a partnership project between the Kooweerup Secondary College and the Kooweerup Health Service.
