Hospital Services

Kooweerup Regional Health Service operates a twelve bed acute care unit providing:

  • Palliative Care

  • Post Surgical Care

  • Slow Stream Rehabilitation

  • Acute Medical

  • Interim Care

Kooweerup Regional Health Service provides a warm friendly atmosphere to make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. Over the past twelve months the nursing staff have actively sought education and we now have two trained Immunisation Nurses, this has been integral to our Staff Health Immunisation Program.

Other education offered includes: Fire and Evacuation, Basic Life Support, Extended Scope of Practice, Sexuality and Reproductive Health as well as assisting Division 2 Nurses to gain their Medication Endorsement.

The transition from a surgical focus to more a medical, rehabilitation, palliative care focus has had challenges for the Nurses attending to patient care.

They have responded with enthusiasm and professionalism to the challenge; learning many new skills and providing an environment that supports their patient's journey. Nursing documentation previously developed for surgical services have been redeveloped with a medical focus.

An example is new Admission Assessments and Nursing Care Plans that have been developed by the Nurses to enhance the nursing care given.

Welcome to our exciting new website.  Kooweerup Regional Health Service trusts that you had a Great New Year.  In case you haven’t heard we received four years Accreditation for the Hospital – congratulations to all staff for their assistance and continued excellent care.
